In acupressure diagnostics the procedure is the same as in looking for tender points, the difference being that all points of the meridian of the large intestine, lungs
and pericardium are examined by palpitation and exami- nations are performed for meridians of the kidneys, urinary bladder, gall bladder, and other meridians.
This excessive number of points provides for a much
more accurate diagnostic than the method of 18 tender points. It was shown that fibromyalgia starts very often in one quadrant and only in the course of a decade a complete picture evolves, designated as generalized
fibromyalgia. This is what some American rheumato- logists mean when they demand that patients report pains in all four quadrants.
Fibromyalgia can be diagnosed through acu- pressure and from that moment on it is no longer
an embarrassed diagnosis.
