Fibromyalgia – Reliable diagnosis is possible
A lot of nonsense is written about fibromyalgia and fibromyalgia syndrome.
For those affected, and their relatives, it therefore makes sense to take a cautious, step-by-step approach to the problem. The first and uppermost objective has to be a clear diagnosis. That’s where the first problems appear. Some
“experts” believe fibromyalgia is not an illness; other that it’s “all in the mind”; others, in turn, confuse the detection points with the illness itself and poke around in the tender points. It is overlooked
that, after the recommended multimodal therapy attempts, some patients fare even worse than before. No wonder – multimodal therapy is not guaranteed by outcome studies, after all. It is based only on speculative “expert
opinion” and therefore sits on the lowest rung of credibility. Despite the absence of recovery prospects and dubious proof of its effectiveness, insurers reimburse these attempts at therapy.

The examination guide is precise, unambiguous and usable by lay persons. It enables both the patient and those around them to inform themselves on a
first-hand basis and to form an impression of the illness.
